Purimspiel

Kids PurimspielFourth, fifth, and sixth graders from Temple celebrate Purim and entertain audiences with a delightful and amusing Kids Purimspiel show. "The Fairy Tale Megillah" on February 28, 2010 was a smashing success!


Purim CarnivalAfter the Kids Purimspiel show, children and families continue their Purim celebration at this sponsored, organized, and staffed by MeFTY. The MeFTY Purim Carnival on February 28, 2010 delighted hundreds of families and raised nearly $3,000 for tzedakah.


Passover SederSponsored, prepared, and served by WRJ-Sisterhood, this Congregational Passover Seder is held annually on the second night of Pesach.

 

 

MOMapaloozaMOMapalooza, a Mother's Day extravaganza with the Memphis Jazz Orchestra, was a great Mother's Day event. Special thanks go to all the sponsors, including presenting sponsor SunTrust Bank Memphis. (This video shows highlights from 2009's event.)

MRJ-Brotherhood Charity Golf TournamentOrganized and run by Temple's MRJ-Brotherhood, this tournament raises money "fore" Temple and other organizations.  Check out pictures from this year's event, which was on Monday, May 10, 2010, at the Ridgeway Country Club


Congregation CelebrationHeld every third Friday in May, the Congregation Celebration includes Temple Israel's annual meeting--including installation of Officers and Trustees--, a Shabbat dinner, and a Shabbat service. (This video shows highlights from 2009's event.)

Mitzvah Day
Hundreds of Temple members of all ages volunteer in this annual day of community service and perform dozens of projects for various organizations across Memphis. This year's Mitzvah Day is Sunday, November 7, 2010.

EJ's 5k Run/1 Mile WalkNow fondly named "EJ’s 5k," this annual family-friendly walk/run connects the great philanthropic work of Mr. Goldsmith with the faith-based idea of caring for our bodies and souls. Running therefore becomes a spiritual exercise and more than a matter of simply logging miles. Whether you are a runner or a walker, a family looking for enjoyable afternoon, or an individual seeking a deeper connection to your overall well-being, experience EJ's 5K! This year's EJ's 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk is Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Temple Israel.

Temple a Go-GoThe Temple a Go-Go party on Nov. 21, 2009 was a tremendous success.  All proceeds will help those Temple Israel members who need Temple now more than ever.



Chanukah DinnerCelebrate the festival of lights, sing songs, and eat a traditional Chanukah meal at the annual congregational Chanukah dinner sponsored by Temple's own WRJ-Sisterhood and MRJ-Brotherhood.
