About our ProgramThe Wendy and Avron Fogelman Religious School includes these vital areas of the education program: Sunday School, Eighth Grade, High School, and Hebrew School.
The experiences here provide students a core foundation for a Jewish education that will serve them well throughout their lives. Wendy and Avron Fogelman's generous gift to endow the school will help ensure the Jewish education of thousands of children and young adults for many years.
Sunday School
From late summer through spring, these weekly classes for Kindergarten through 7th graders on Sunday morning cover a wide range of lessons, activities, and special events.
Listen to Barb Gelb as she reads the article for the Voice regarding reading books.
8th Grade Post B'nai Mitzvah Program This exciting program exclusively for 8th graders bridges the portion of young adults' Jewish education after their bar or bat mitzvah and before they enter high school.
High School
This program includes 9th through 12th graders and meets mostly on Sunday afternoons.
Confirmation and graduation are two of the most visible aspects of the high school program.
Students earn hours towards graduation through class attendance and participation in informal education programs including youth group events, social action programs, Jewish camping, worship, and mentoring younger students.
The requirements for graduation are detailed here.
Confirmation students (10th graders) travel to New York, examining the history of Jews in the United States. There they experience the tastes, sounds, and sights of Judaism in a very large and diverse city.

11th and 12th graders attend the Reform Movement's biennial Consultation on Conscience conference in Washington, D.C., and they meet with elected officials about issues that concern us as advocates for social justice. Read an article about the April, 2009 trip to Washington .
Hebrew SchoolLearning the Hebrew language is an important part of Jewish studies. 4th, 5th, and 6th graders are taught Hebrew at scheduled Wednesday afternoon classes at Temple.
