At the BKL ELC, our entire campus becomes a classroom. Children learn, explore, and play in a wide range of indoor and outdoor environments.
Playground & Outdoor Classroom Spaces
Our large, well-equipped playground gives children plenty of room to climb, imagine, and explore. In addition to active play, our outdoor gardening area allows children to plant, tend, and harvest fruits and vegetables, turning nature into a hands-on learning experience. Our children also have access to an outdoor classroom that can be used to further extend lessons and time outside.
SchEIdt Family Center
When the weather keeps us indoors, the Scheidt Family Center provides a safe, enclosed multipurpose space where children can move and play. This indoor gym and play area ensures active learning continues every day.
Temple Israel Trail
The Temple Israel Trail is a natural extension of our learning environment. Children frequently explore the trail, discovering the wildlife that calls our campus home. Deer, owls, and many other creatures make this space a living classroom filled with wonder.
Sacred Spaces
Each Friday, as we welcome Shabbat, our children gather in the Danziger Chapel for age-appropriate services and activities. The Greenstein Sanctuary is also open and accessible, giving our young learners a meaningful connection to the spiritual heart of Temple Israel.
